The Beginning

Analogue love. For nearly two decades, I worked a regular job at a marketing agency, toiling away from nine to five and pushing pixels with no real interest in photography. Then one day, everything changed. My basement got robbed, and while sorting through the remnants of what was left, I stumbled upon my grandfather's Zorki 3s – a Russian analogue camera from the fifties, complete with a leather case in surprisingly good condition. I took it to a local shop, and they confirmed that it was still fully functional. That moment of discovery inspired me to try something new, marking the start of a new and exciting chapter in my career.

I was a complete beginner, with no prior experience in the art of analogue photography. I had to learn everything from scratch, and YouTube became my main learning resource. I continue to read tutorials and articles every day, as the pursuit of knowledge in this field never truly ends.

Inspired by the Zorki, I went on to acquire a second-hand Zenit TTL, my first SLR camera, followed by the iconic Canon AE-1 Program – a camera that truly "changed the game" for me. Both came equipped with a 50mm lens, but I soon realized that I needed a wider and zoom lens to capture the beauty of animals without startling them. As film photography made a remarkable comeback, my collection of analogue cameras continued to grow, and the rest, as they say, is history.
